A dedicated classroom session on Syndromic Management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) and Reproductive Tract Infections (RTI) was conducted for participants from USAID-DFID. The session aimed to equip healthcare professionals and program implementers with essential knowledge and practical skills to effectively diagnose and manage STI/RTI cases using the syndromic approach.

As part of the project’s humanitarian response to the COVID-19 pandemic, essential relief materials were distributed among beneficiaries to support vulnerable communities. The distribution included food supplies, hygiene kits, personal protective equipment (PPE), and essential medicines to help mitigate the crisis.

Empowering communities

Building a sustainable future

AITAM Welfare Organization is a national Non-Government Development Organization (NGO) in Bangladesh. We have been working in the rural and peri urban area among the disadvantaged families in the remote communities, who are struggling for a better life, long for a situation where they will have a minimum means to survive with comfort and with dignity.
To begin with the organization started working health care and prevention of diseases, as whole the public health intervention in the rural community in the remote areas. Later on AITAM approached for more holistic development activities in participation with the people in the rural sectors, organizing and empowering people, Awareness development, strengthening themselves with training and other awareness development program and advocacy for participation in local government planning, in decision making and implementing the development activities. During the last three decades we had the primary focus of the initiative was to include every body of the family members, including women, men, adolescents and children. In the process, we always consider women as the head of the family and plays the important role of leading each family in the project. We got a cycle of three years in a project, 2500 families are included from the community, usually the clusters of families from different villages. The target families are selected documenting the family profile, through a socio-economic survey at the beginning.

The health advocacy campaign and policy lobbying always prioritized the issues on treatment and care, people managed health systems, rational drug use, medical education. Gender was always a priority issue in all health development initiatives. Participating in many networks and movements on health, being member of many international organizations and forum,ISDB,IOCU, HAI, KILEN,IAS etc
